Batiste Sweeps the Nation
Sales of dry shampoo products have soared in the last year, according to a Mintel report. Brands such as Batiste had a great 2011, with dry shampoo sales growing by 140% compared to the previous year.
Dry shampoo has previously been viewed as a practical necessity, championed by festival goers in need of a clean. However, analysts say the trend of ‘big hair’, seen on TV shows such as The Only Way is Essex, have contributed to a shift to a more fashionable purpose of dry shampoo.
23% of women in the UK, and 40% of 16-24 year olds now use brands like Batiste, with the market outpacing sales of regular shampoo products.
